Good luck with the new show, not that i expect you’ll need it. You probably have enough funny stories that you could tell to write another ten books, so i guess the hard part will be picking which lucky ones to reveal to the public. You might find people start being very generous to you in the hope you’ll keep quiet about them!

Do you think that you’ll perform the new routine in this country or are you going to tour australia or america with it?

It’s a sign of what I consider to be a better artist/performer/creator. Instead of rehashing the same old stuff, you seek to keep things fresh and new. While I’m a faint touch sad it’s not likely I’d get to see the older stuff (which for American audiences would be pretty new despite having read the book – several times), I’m very glad there’s more where that came from, I’m sure. :)

Getting ready to spend the evening watching my second most favorite bass player and his crew from the Great White North,

Thank you for an unexpected and enjoyable set on the outside comedy stage at Glastonbury on Sunday. I must admit I am ignorant of most things musical, I have a lazy interest in music and like interesting things to present themselves to me, rather than look for them myself. So it was so nice to discover you and your musical history. I will be checking your book out for sure and all the work that you have done that is so familiar. Thanks again hope to see you preform again soon. S x

    Dear Guy,

if you still haven’t found an inspiration for your next book, an idea could be come in Italy, drink a good glass of wine (red), remember the fantastic gig in Venice, Florence, Milan ecc…, probably you could take an inspiration.

If I could write for you, probably I Will write In a chapter of your new book about the gran prix that I had in Milan (after the second show of David) from Teatro Arcimboldi To the Hotel Savoia….to follow you Bus……my little Smart has been burning!

The name of the chapter could be “A Monza GP to take an autograph from Guy”…..

By the way, thank’s again for the autograph (that is not for sale! :-) ) )

    Best best best regards.

    Hello Guy,

I am the co-administrator of rick-wright.org and I was wondering if you might be able to give me some advice. We have wishes to make our site an official site because we would love to help promote Richard in any way, but we’re not sure how to go about it exactly or if it’s even a possibility. So I was hoping that maybe you could offer me some advice. Where should I even begin? Would Richard even be interested in having an official site? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. :) Thank you so much Guy!

    Cheers!

    Guy,

I think you and Tony Levin should trade stories, pretend you were in King Crimson… try the Chapman Stick…

With all this mention of credit crunch I’m resorting to reading the book in the local newsagent, I got some strange looks while I was howling out loud, then I blew my cover and had to leave.

Pop over for a few Guiness anytime.

    Greetings from Northern Ireland

Completely understand your wanting to retire ye olde routine, Guy…as ‘Nix pointed out, great entertainers know when something is getting tired and needs to be made fresh again. Like ‘Nix, I’ll hate missing the old routine, but that’s what your (constantly read) book remedies. :) That said, could your inkling towards eventually working on a new routine possibly mean a new book too? If it does, you can bet that I would be among the very first to nab a copy… :)

I don’t think anyone minded too much that the show two weeks ago was pre-recorded did they? I bet there were one or two that complained though weren’t there? There are always a few.

Guy can you remember which Neil Young song it was that you played on Sunday? I’m pretty sure it was just before you did the smack the baby bit and then played Black Dog. Or if anyone else knows i’ll be equally grateful. I’ll just try the listen again feature but i dont think you said the name of the song.

    Cheers

[smack the baby bit] that’s funny

Yea…that’s “Rockin’ In The Free World”, off of Mr. Young’s Freedom. And for some reason, I swear a radio station I used to listen to in Raleigh, NC claimed that Pearl Jam joined Neil on the original. When, based on what I’ve looked up and have already known, Pearl Jam could have only performed “Rockin’…” with Neil when they were touring in support of Mirror Ball (not counting any various benefit-type concerts/shows)…

As much as I loved it growing up, that station could be a bit weird sometimes…and not to mention occasionally more than a little off on their band/artist facts. o_O

    Hello Guy!

    Just a quick personal question.

I have a woman friend who says she used to be very good friends with you. Her name is Leona Whitehead. Do you know or remember her?

    Cheers guy!! Love your work.

She said she was good mates with you before Pulse tour days.

But never mind. Cheers for the reply.

And best of luck on writing your new material. I never got to see the old show. By the time I found out about it it was all too late. Will make your next one.

    Catch ya later mate.

Just a couple of quick questions Guy if you’ve got a spare couple of minutes.

Firstly, you were just kidding when you said that you drive a prius weren’t you? I hope you were.

Secondly, and a bit more importantly, do you think that your show will be moved and have you got any ideas where it could end up? Is it going back to its old slot? I remember that you said something like “in their infinite wisdom they’ve moved my show to a new slot” when it was moved to the sunday evening which suggested that you prefered the friday night timing.

    Cheers Guy,
    Thomas

Umm, had to listen to your show via listen again option, but it cut off last few minutes, you started to say something about maybe not being there next week, but I missed the rest. :(

Well, according to the Planet Rock newsletter I got yesterday, Guy’s show is still scheduled to come on Sundays at 7PM GMT. Unless the potential schedule change is to take place later this month, hopefully that’s a sign that the show will stay put where it is…

Before you mentioned Nigel Slater on your show last Sunday, Guy, I had actually heard of Nigel. But I don’t know how…given that BBC America nor the Food Network have not featured him, at least as far as I know. *sighs* A shame, really, for in what I have read on and off about Mr. Slater, his cooking and recipes sound GREAT.

Come to think of it, I don’t think FN and BBCA are even featuring anything with Jamie Oliver right now, and haven’t for sometime. *sighs again* If there was anyone else I would credit with really getting me into cooking besides Alton Brown and the Iron Chefs (the REAL ones from Japan…not that IC America slop), it is definitely Jamie.

P.S. Phoenix, you still here? If you are, you (along with anyone else here) may be interested in one or more of a TON of comic books and related collectibles I am finally letting go of and selling after quitting collecting comics a little over five years ago. If you are indeed interested, e-mail me (mandala4444@gmail.com), be it with whichever superhero(es) or team(s) you collect or in general, and I’ll see what I can gather for you ASAP.

And that said, I already apologize for the (very) shameless AND geeky plug…I promise it will be the only one of its kind I post here.
